| The hotel opened in November 2002, and is the sister hotel to myhotel Bloomsbury. Myhotel Chelsea offers a unique range of guest services and has received the plaudits it undoubtedly deserves as one of London’s hottest hotels. Myhotel Chelsea was selected by Conde Naste Traveller in their 2003 Hot List of the World’s Coolest Hotels. The hotel was created by the same team who brought you the award-winning myhotel Bloomsbury. James Soane of Project Orange designed myhotel Chelsea to be a quirky, comfortable bohemian enclave in the heart of Chelsea. Myhotel Chelsea is found in the stylish Brompton Cross district, a haven of peace on the doorstep of some of the world’s most luxurious boutiques and restaurants. We are only minutes away from the ultimate shopping experiences of Harrods and Harvey Nichols and next door to plenty of world famous landmarks. Myhotel Chelsea is situated on a quiet residential street within minutes from South Kensington underground station. The hotel aims to create an informal atmosphere, which alludes to a local bohemian past, combining old with new. It feels more like being in a modern country house than in the middle of the metropolis. The colors and textures are deliberately mixed up to create a sense of authenticity and history. The building itself, originally designed as a police station, is a robust brick edifice punctured by elegant sash windows. The 45 bedroom and bathrooms are generous, airy and quite pink! The design concept was to create a soft, glamorous and comfortable setting for visitors and business travelers alike. Much of the furniture in the rooms has been specially designed to create an eclectic and fun room concept. Mybar is a cool contemporary white boarded room, part New England townhouse, part English seaside. Mybar is a buzzy place that is full of life combining traditional sensibility with contemporary streamlining. Guests are invited to take breakfast form the buffet, until the bar opens to the public for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. In the evening, the lights dim, the music goes up-tempo and the barman can offer you decadent cocktails and snacks. Dim the lights, light the candles and chill out in style. |
