Celebrated my mother in laws 60th Birthday with tea at the Ritz. We had a wonderful hour and a half; the service was friendly and attentive in a very atmospheric room. Lovely choice of teas, and top ups as required. Sandwiches were too cold, and to be quite frank pretty boring.....ham, chicken, smoked salmon, cucumber, cheese (but in a lovely sun dried tomato bread) and egg mayonnaise rolls. Scones were the best I have ever eaten ( and I come from Devon and so am used to a clotted cream tea!), and pastries rich and luscious. Waiters circle the room with trays topping up if you would like replenishments. Piano music in the background.......all in all a great experience and worth the expense - £40 a head.

Lots of car parking. Why is there no mention of secure bicycle parking? I wish to go to London with my wife and take our bikes, now Boris is attempting to make London more bike friendly. Unfortunatly I can't seem to find hotels with any information and the ones I have contacted have just said we don't have space for bicycles.

You've listed all the obvious ones here but sometimes we can find these to be a bit overrun with crowds. We have recently found a new gem in the John Lewis Food Hall which is a more pleasant shopping experience if you're looking to stock up your pantry with fine produce.

When you arrive in London, this Map of London Panoramas shows some of the nearby sights places of interest to St Pancras Station.
Ben raised £636 for the Gorilla Organisation - it was a very hard run as the sun came out as soon as we set off and it gets very hot inside a head-to-toe gorilla suit!!

Glad to have helped to protect the mighty gorilla :)
