Tottenham Court Road tube station is the most southern station serving Tottenham Court Road, the others being Goodge Street and Warren Street. The station serves as an interchange between the Central Line and the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line. Tottenham Court Road station is located between Oxford Circus and Holborn on the Central Line, and on the Northern Line it is sandwiched between Leicester Square and Goodge Street. The station itself is on St Giles' The station has been earmarked to be part of future developments, such as the proposed Crossrail lines one and two, the latter being an unofficial name for the mooted Chelsea-Hackney line. One of the main attractions of Tottenham Court Road is its status as a major shopping street and especially it's profusion of electronic goods shops. One thing of great attraction on Tottenham Court Road is the Dominion Theatre, which is home to many great shows including the Queen-based musical We Will Rock You. The Odeon Tottenham Court also shows all the latest film releases. Restaurants And Bars Near Tottenham Court RoadTottenham Court Road is a long road, and as such there is a wealth of options for eating and drinking. Some restaurants worthy of a mention include the provocatively named Opium restaurant, which serves Vietnamese fare. Also, Mr Jerk offers Caribbean themed cooking, and the Meza and the Palms of Goa are also excellent options for Spanish and Indian food respectively. There are also more routine choices for eating, such as Nandos and Hamburger Union, the latter serving some of the finest burgers in London. There is also lots of sandwich and coffee shops along Tottenham Court Road. The options for drinking are also numerous. Nightclubs such as the 100 Club and Sol Central are for those who wish to dance the night away, although there are other bars such as Akbar and The Asylum which offer a cool place to drink. Other bars of note include the Candy Bar and the Coach Bar. There are also the normal chain bars, such as All Bar One and Wetherspoons as well as more sedate pubs such as The Wheatsheaf and the Carlisle Arms. In short, Tottenham Court Road has a huge amount of bars, clubs and pubs, and those named above are just a taste of the places you can go in this large area. |
