Located in Bloomsbury, central London, just a short walk away from Covent Garden, The Kingsley by Thistle could not be located closer to the centre of London. National landmarks such as the British Museum and Oxford Street are within easy walking distance, with the picturesque Bloomsbury Gardens right around the corner. The nearest tube station is Holborn at just a three minute walk, though Tottenham Court Road is also within walking distance. Both stations are serviced by the Central line, with the former is also on the Piccadilly line and the latter the Northern line, providing easy access to the rest of the city. The Houses of Parliament, The London Eye and Buckingham Palace are also only a short distance from the hotel, easy to get to for those who enjoy a good walk and even easier to get to by tube.
The Kingsley takes great pride in its literary theme and offers a Residents' Library full of early 20th century classics. Guests can have these books delivered to their rooms and reading pillows are also available to provide you with the ultimate reading experience. For those who want to keep in contact with home or simply keep up-to-date with their business initiatives will benefit from the wireless internet available throughout the hotel. Guests can purchase 24 hour internet cards from the hotel reception. There is also a 24 hour room service.
There is no on-site parking but there are 450 spaces around the corner at Bloomsbury Square including two disabled spaces. There are a further 228 spaces including two disabled spaces at the NCP Museum Street Multi-Storey Car Park. Guests may have to pay an additional charge to use these services.
All of the rooms have been recently refurbished and redecorated with deep, romantic reds and warm, chocolate browns and all are en-suites with WiFi access and air conditioning. There are two dining facilities, the first being Kingsley Two, a newly refurbished Brasserie serving a selection of British and European cuisines complimented by an elaborate wine list, allowing you to choose the right wine to suit your meal. The restaurant occupies an airy, informal atmosphere. The relaxing and seductive Bar & Lounge serves a variety of drinks and light snacks in a homely environment. Both venues employ a smart-casual dress code.
For the hard of sight any documents at The Kingsley are available in large print and braille. There are two rooms for ambulant disabled guests with a further five sensory rooms.
Guests arriving by air will find taxis waiting at each of the airports to bring them into the city. Alternatively the Heathrow Express runs to Paddington and takes about 15 minutes, whilst the Gatwick Express runs to Victoria taking about 30 minutes. Again there will be taxis waiting at these stations, but guests who wish to continue their journey independently will be able to get to the hotel via the tube. Guests arriving from Paddington should take the Bakerloo line through to Oxford Circus and change onto the Central line, following it through to Holborn. Those arriving from Victoria should take the Victoria line one stop to Green Park and then take the Piccadilly Line through to Holborn. From Holborn tube station the hotel is just a few minutes' walk. Guests arriving by car will find it easiest to leave the M25 at Junction 16 and take the A40 into central London, continuing onto Marylebone Road and turning right onto Upper Woburn Place. From here guests should pass Russell Square Gardens and turn right onto Bloomsbury Way.
