The Rossmore Hotel is situated in Ilford, to the east of London just outside the city centre. It is ideally located for travellers who want to explore London whilst being able to escape from the hubbub at the close of the day, with Ilford being a distinctly quieter part of the city that retains good transport links. The nearest Tube stations are Redbridge and Gant's Hill on the Central line, both of which can connect guests with the city centre in under half an hour. The West End, Theatreland and a multitude of London museums and landmarks can be easily reached by rail, and the East End is particularly convenient and contains the Olympics 2012 stadium, Westfield Stratford City and the ExCeL and Olympia Exhibition Centres. Stansted Airport is easily accessible via car, with frequent flights to mainland Europe.

Facilities

Unusually for a 2 star hotel, the Rossmore Hotel offers a few facilities to make your stay that more enjoyable. The hotel is equipped to host corporate and private events, and the reception can book airport transfers and private London tours by car if you so desire.

Every guest of the hotel is guaranteed a secure parking space when they book a room.

Rooms

One of the main benefits of staying slightly outside the city centre is that the guest rooms at the Rossmore Hotel are much more spacious than you would find in a cramped townhouse. Each room is decorated in a contemporary style and features elegant wood panelling, as well as an array of modern facilities. Guests can expect to discover amenities such as plasma satellite television, tea and coffee maker and high speed internet, as well as an ensuite bathroom. Rooms are available as single, double, twin, triple or family occupancy, and larger Queen and King suites are also on offer.

Dining

A full English breakfast is included in the rate of the room, and is served between 6.30am and 9.00am from Tuesday to Friday and 7.00am to 9.00am for the rest of the week. Other meals can be found in the local town centre or in central London, where there is an overwhelming choice of top restaurants, cafés and bars. The hotel also has its own licensed bar and lounge to quench your thirst at any time of the day.

AWFUL hotel. First room had damp and NO heating, damp patches all over the ceiling and walls, plug sockets were broken, holes in the sheets, dirty towels, filthy carpets and skirting boards, disgusting bathroom. No kettle, coffee, etc. No mirror. No iron, hair-dryer, etc. Three single beds instead of a double and one single. Only after having to spend the night there and beg/plead/argue with the staff did we get another room at 11PM the next night, which was, again, filthy. Also had a broken bed, and worst of all, water pouring in from the ceiling THROUGH THE LIGHT FITTING. Absolutely zero help from the staff, who had no idea how to handle any situation, although they were also listening to complaints from every other guest there. Staff are often rude, and always hopeless. No night/weekend manager so nobody on duty is authorised to handle any problem of any kind. I was shouted at by an employee of another hotel who had come in to help this one for having the cheek to complain about the state of the rooms. The bar is closed all weekend. The breakfast is microwaved (yes, including the bacon, etc). Not enough space in the dining room for all guests. We are currently seeking a FULL REFUND and will never, ever go near this dump again. It is dirty, smelly and DANGEROUS. Trading Standards, here I come!
TOP TIP: If you try and call them to complain , they will continually hang up, but as they have a bog standard, cheap phone line, they do not have the capacity to put you on hold or end the call without you hanging up first. So stay on the line, even when it has gone dead. This clogs their line, making them unable to make or receive calls, resulting in them being forced to deal with your complaint.
