Richmond Theatre was built in 1899 as the Theatre Royal and Opera House. Some of the stars to have performed here are Charlie Chaplin, Anna Pavlova, Stan Laurel and John Geilgud. It now presents about 40 productions a year – a wide range of drama, musicals, opera, dance and family-friendly theatre.
The theatre is air conditioned and has 3 licensed bars. It seats 820 over 3 levels.
Disabled access is through the main entrance which is at street level. There is step free access to the Stalls where 4 wheelchair users can be accommodated. The auditorium has an infra-red sound amplification system for the hard of hearing with 24 headsets. There is an adapted toilet at the rear of the Stalls.
The nearest tube station is Richmond. Parking can be found in the Old Deer Car Park.
