Paddington station is a major rail and tube station located in Paddington, near central London. The station is accessible from the Bakerloo, Hammersmith & City, District and Circle lines of the Underground system, and is situated within Travelcard Zone 1. The station holds great historical importance, being the London terminus of the Great Western Railway and whatever successors came after since 1838. Attractions Near PaddingtonPaddington is an area in the City of Westminster, and is located in central London. As with most areas of London, there is great shopping to be had in Paddington, with everything from bookbinders to vets in the area. Also, as you will see below, the area is chock-full of excellent restaurants plus cool bars and nightclubs. The world famous Natural History Museum is located less than a mile from Paddington, and has brilliant collections including dinosaurs and the chance to come face to face with the largest creature on earth, the Blue Whale. Restaurants And Bars Near PaddingtonAs mentioned before, Paddington is home to a great number and range of restaurants and bars. Various cuisines are also very much in evidence, with everything from Middle Eastern at the Levantine to Japanese at Yakitoria. There is also a good range with regards to pubs and clubs too. The Ladbrokes Casino and Sports bar in Paddington is a good choice for a night out, combining drinking and socialising with the thrill of gambling thrown in too! There are also more "normal" pubs, such as the Sussex Arms and the Pride of Paddington, but there are also good bars to dance the night away in, with the Sloe Bar and The Union bars both worthy of a mention. In short, the area of Paddington, whilst not one of the most visited in London, still has much to offer anyone travelling to or through it. |
