Escape to the country(ish) when you visit the Menzies Prince Regent, with the hotel building situated in the suburban area of Chigwell outside of the city centre. Perfect for those arriving for a stopover from Stansted Airport (just 20 minutes drive away) or for travellers looking for a longer stay, the tranquil and green atmosphere makes the ideal antidote to central London noise and pollution. The M11 and M25 motorways are a few minutes drive, and Woodford Underground Station is a mile away and provides access to central London via the Central line. Local attractions include Epping Forest, historic Waltham Abbey and the large Fairlop Waters leisure centre complete with golf course.
There are six opulent Banqueting Suites at the Menzies Prince Regent, with the largest capable of holding up to 350 delegates. Executive boardrooms, conference suites, large grounds perfect for team building exercises and conference packages make the hotel a great option for business travellers. Whilst there is no on-site fitness centre at the hotel, the local Esporta fitness centre operates a special offer for hotel guests whereby they get access to the gym, pool, spa and exercise classes for £10.00 per day. The hotel's own garden and terrace are also both delightful places to sit and watch the world go by with a coffee or tea.
There is ample parking on the hotel grounds that is free for all hotel residents.
As a reflection of the traditional hotel building, each of the Menzies Prince Regent's 61 ensuite guest rooms is decorated in a classic style with traditional furniture, prints on the walls, a rich and inviting colour scheme and even grand four poster beds in some instances! Unlike the decor, the amenities in each room are thoroughly modern and include free WiFi access, satellite television, air conditioning and hairdryer, amongst others. Rooms are medium in size but still considerably larger than many central London box rooms, and the attention to detail with the aesthetic gives them an extra luxurious feel.
In addition to the banqueting facilities that are available for hire for events and special occasions, the hotel runs its own Brasserie restaurant throughout the week to cater for hungry guests. With a peaceful atmosphere and soothing views across the hotel gardens, the restaurant serves modern British and international cuisine using fresh seasonal ingredients and is a good alternative to the local restaurants and pubs.
