My husband and I booked a double room online for one night at this hotel. On arriving at the hotel we reported to reception and were greeted with 'Oh, the thing is, another family has wanted to extend their stay and they have small children so we have got you a room at another hotel.' There was no apology for the inconvenience, we were just told what they were doing with us. Worst of all, they expected us to pay them for the other hotel room before we could even see it. We demanded to see it and the receptionist rolled her eyes and reluctantly took us over to Montana Hotel. We would have kicked up a fuss right then about how inappropriate it was to relocate us without our consent or an apology, but we were running late for a show we had booked, so we paid the £69 for the room and were told we could come back to Lisa Court for breakfast in the morning.

Later that evening we caught a glimpse of Montana Hotel's log-book which recorded that Lisa Court had paid them £50 for our room. Their listed tariffs on the door were also £50 per night for a double, including breakfast. We had paid Lisa Court £19 extra for basically no extra service! After checking out of Montana Hotel we went back to Lisa Court to demand an explanation and a refund. The incompetent receptionist rang the manager saying 'These people are saying something like they paid extra or something' and when I spoke to the manager she said that we were lucky to get a rate like £50 at Montana Hotel because it is peak season, completely avoiding the issue that it was Lisa Court who had got this rate, not us, we had still paid £69. I continued to argue my case until I was told that the extra £19 covered breakfast (which we didn't have because Montana Hotel is a noisy smelly dump and we did not sleep well enough to wake up for an early breakfast) and wireles s internet (which we had never been informed about the previous evening when we checked in). I mentioned that no wireless had been mentioned to us and the manager said 'No she did mention it to you, you didn't hear' (not that the manager had any way of knowing because she had not been present the previous evening). We were denied a refund and it reached a point where continuing to argue was pointless. Basically, Lisa Court Hotel made an extra £69 from the family extending their stay using OUR room, shipped us off to Montana Hotel (also appalling and dirty), and made a £19 profit there by paying only £50 for the room. Shame on them.
