Blackheath and Greenwich are both pleasant areas of London, with an enviable combination of strong transport links to the rest of the capital, a lively local community and semi-rural scenery nearby. The o2 centre, which hosts large concerts and gigs year-round as well as a cinema and a number of restaurants, is a very short distance from the hotel, and there are many other nearby attractions including the National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and the playing grounds of Charlton Atheletic football club. Blackheath itself has the mixture of pubs, restaurants and shops that you would expect of a cosmopolitan village, with Greenwich a 20 minute walk away through the picturesque Greenwich Royal Park. The nearest tube station is North Greenwich on the Piccadilly line, providing easy access to the business areas of Canary Wharf and the Docklands as well as the remainder of the city.

Facilities

There is a comfortable main lounge area with television and armchairs, as well as a small bar.

There is limited free on-site parking around the clock, as well as bicycle and motorbike storage.

Rooms

The Greenland Villa consists of just 7 guest rooms, assuring care and attention to detail wherever you stay. There are 2 family rooms, 2 suites and a triple room, allowing for whatever combination of guests you require, and each recently renovated bedroom has a number of thoughtful and homely touches to make residents feel at ease. Each room contains a flatscreen TV with freeview channels, DVD player, secure internet access, hairdryer, minifridge, microwave and trouser press, and the ensuite bathrooms come complete with bathrobes and in some cases even a whirlpool-style bath. The simple and spotless decor make it a relaxing place to return to at the end of a busy day.

Dining

The Greenland Villa does not possess its own restaurant but does serve breakfast every day from 7.30am for an additional charge, with continental and full English breakfast options available. There are also microwaves within each room.

Good price for a hotel in this location. Room was very pleasant and comfortable. Service was efficient and straightforward, proprietor was very friendly and made the hotel a simple pleasure.

Small and house-converted, as are most hotels this far into expensive London. I travel and stay in hotels quite a lot and this was a good find.
