The amusingly titled Goodenough Club is situated in the beautiful and historic surrounds of Mecklenburgh Square Gardens in Bloomsbury, and is linked to a rich tradition of academic excellence. Today it remains faithful to its educational background and is the perfect place for visiting academics and college alumni to stay, with institutions including UCL, LSE, King's College, Eastman Dental Institute and Great Ormond Street all within walking distance. More lively areas including Covent Garden, Russell Square and the West End are also a short journey away, containing some of the capital's top theatres, nightclubs and restaurants. Whilst the hotel does not have its own gym or fitness facilities, daily membership for the nearby Nuffield Health Centre is available to purchase from reception. The centre has its own fully-equipped gym, heated indoor pool and aerobics classes on offer for guests to enjoy.
The 19th century building has 65 elegantly furnished guest rooms, ranging from a single to double, family and suite size to accommodate various groups. Each room is decorated in a modern style with reference to its Georgian routes, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere with a cosy red and cream colour scheme. All rooms contain facilities including free WiFi access, television, telephone, tea and coffee maker, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries, with some overlooking the square gardens outside. The four garden suites offer a slice of Georgian opulence, with chandeliers, high ceilings and a separate living area making them a great choice for those who need a little extra space and style.
A continental breakfast is available each morning in the Club Guest Lounge and a freshly cooked breakfast is available in the College's Great Hall. Freddie's Café Bar is also on-site and provides drinks and snacks throughout the day, with multiple fine dining and informal chain choices located in the surrounding area for the rest of your time at the hotel.
