The Finborough Theatre is above a pub and opened in 1980. It presents a variety of drama, both neglected works from the 18th and 19th century and a host of new plays. A notable production was Adult Child/Dead Child, which won the 1988 Time Out Theatre Award. There was also a late night comedy and cabaret slot here during the 80’s, which had appearances from Jeremy Hardy, Paul Merton, and the public debut of the 21 year old Rory Bremner. From the 90’s, the theatre became well known for presenting new writing.
The Finborough seats just 50. Patrons have full access to the bar downstairs. It isn’t currently accessible to wheelchair users as it is up a flight of 23 steps. There is a disabled toilet, however.
The nearest tube station is Earl’s Court. Parking is available at Earl’s Court for those arriving by car.
