The hotel can be found 3 miles and around 10 minutes' drive from the main terminals at Heathrow Airport but is not directly underneath the flight path for the airport, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay with quick access to the main transport hubs. The building is 3 minutes from Junction 3 of the M4, making it well-placed for visitors who are keen to explore local attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland, Kew Gardens and Thorpe Park. Central London can be reached in around 30 minutes by car or via the Piccadilly line and Heathrow Express from the airport.
There is no direct shuttle to the Cottage Guest House, but public buses 111 and 105 both stop near the hotel. Alternatively if you are travelling with lots of luggage you can hire a taxi from the arrival terminals at the airport.
Given that the hotel is a small and friendly B&B it lacks the range of amenities of some of its larger rivals, but the landscaped garden provides a pleasant backdrop for guests to return to after a day's sightseeing and travel. There are sports and leisure facilities provided in the hotel garden.
The small hotel car park is free for hotel residents and operates on a first come first served basis.
With only 21 guest rooms, visitors are assured intimacy and attention to detail when they stay at the Cottage Guest House. The spacious bedrooms in the hotel are decorated in a traditional English B&B style, with homely fabrics and furnishings contributing to create a relaxed feel. All rooms are ensuite and have colour television, alarm clock, hairdryer and a welcome tray, and some of the newer luxury bedrooms to the rear of the building boast atmospheric beamed ceilings, larger floor space, fridges and an iron. These rooms also have calming views of the courtyard and landscaped garden, providing a welcome patch of green outside the busy motorway and airport circuit. Single, twin, double and family rooms are all available.
There is a choice of full English cooked breakfast or continental breakfast, served between 7am and 8.30am on weekdays and 8am and 9.30am during weekends and bank holidays. There is no bar or restaurant, but the Queen's Head pub is a short 2 minute walk away and serves drinks, Thai food and pub grub.
