Bow Road Station is in Tower Hamlets, East London. This area has benefited from the regeneration of the Docklands in recent years and is now a place where many young professionals live. Bow Road opened in 1902 and the station is a Grade 2 listed building.
There are a number of parks in this area to enjoy. The largest one is Victoria Park, which is made up of grass and woodland, lakes and footpaths, and is a very pleasant place to spend a sunny afternoon. Children will enjoy watching the animals in the deer enclosure and exploring the playground.
Mile End Park is even closer. The Ragged School Museum is a family friendly place that offers visitors a slice of Victorian life. It used to be London’s largest free school for poor children and you can explore this through role play, hands on exhibitions and talks.
Bow has a famous market on Roman Road. It has fresh local produce at good prices as well as a range of other stalls such as crafts, antiques and clothes. Sometimes there are street performers and activities such as face painting for children.
