Bow Church is in the borough of Tower Hamlets, East London. It has recently reinvented itself to attract professionals from the nearby City and Docklands business and financial districts. There are a few pubs and restaurants and a famous and lively market on Roman Road. The entertainments of the Docklands are also within easy reach.

Bow Church is a station on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), in Bow, East London. It’s in Travelcard Zone 2. It’s also within easy walking distance of Bow Road Station, which is on the District and Hammersmith and city lines (this is about 200 metres away). It’s actually an interchange with this station, so through ticketing is allowed. The station is also less than 500 metres from Devons Road Station. Bow Church was one of the original stations on the first part of the DLR, which opened in 1987.
There are some green spaces near Bow Church Station. There is a small park very close to it, called Grove Hall Park. A bit further away you can find Three Mills Green, which is a new public space on the site of several historic mills. This is also where you can find Three Mills Island Film Studios, famous for being the set of the Big Brother house. Mile End Park was created in the 1940s and has a pavilion and a lake. Events are often held here. Victoria Park is also within walking distance. This is a huge open space and was actually London’s first public park, opened in 1845 after a local MP presented a petition to Queen Victoria with more than 30,000 signatures. Londoners have been enjoying it ever since, with its woodlands, lakes, fountains, sculptures and flowers. It also has a deer enclosure and a childrens playground.
This is also the closest DLR stop to Roman Road Market, which is about 20 minutes walk away. This is a fun day out in summer, with street performers walking amongst the eclectic mix of stalls including crafts, antiques, clothes and books.
