Description

This hotel in historic Bloomsbury was opened by Lord Strathcona in 1911. It is conveniently located between Holborn and Russell Square, just a short stroll to the British Museum and Covent Garden and easy walking distance to the Westend Theatres. Oxford Street is just a short underground or taxi ride away.

The bedrooms are in good condition and are decorated in neutral colour schemes. All rooms have full facilities including television, hair dryer, trouser press and coffee/tea making facilities. Double rooms in this category are small but adequate for a short stay in the centre of town.

The restaurant is bright and airy and is very popular with locals. A variety of modern cuisine is served. The second restaurant is more relaxed and serves a good selection of light snacks and drinks.

The lobby is large and is attractively furnished in light marble. Plentiful seating is available.

The first purpose-built hotel in London, the property has a typical facade with a large blue canopy.

This is a good quality hotel with an unrivalled location, ideal for those wishing to stay in the hub of the capital. ** PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS HOTEL IS ENTIRELY NON-SMOKING ** (1207 RPL)
