Bond Street Tube Station

Bond Street tube station is located, somewhat confusingly, on Oxford Street, near the junction with New Bond Street. It would appear Bond Street station is a particularly shy station, as the actual entrance is located within the West One shopping arcade on the corner of Oxford Street and Davies Street.

There are four platforms in use at Bond Street, and the station is served on the Central Line between Marble Arch and Oxford Circus, and also on the Jubilee Line between Baker Street and Green Park. The station is located within Travelcard Zone 1.

Attractions Near Bond Street

Bond Street is a major London thoroughfare that runs through Mayfair from Piccadilly northwards toward Oxford Street. Technically, "Bond Street" does not exist, as the road is made up of New Bond Street and Old Bond Street.
The street is principally known as an upmarket shopping district, though in recent years Bond Street has seen competition from Sloane Street in this area.

There is much to see and do near Bond Street, apart from the multitude of shopping options, of course. First of all, the rather unique statue of FDR and Winston Churchill, called 'Allies', is on Bond Street, depicting the two icons of world power engaged in conversation on a bench. Also nearby is the world-famous Claridge's Hotel, and the Handel House museum, which was home to two very different musical geniuses, the composer Handel and guitar legend Jimi Hendrix.

Also, the Wallace Collection is situated near to Bond Street, which has some fine collections including French paintings and armour. Finally, the grand US embassy is close too, it being located on Grosvenor Square.

Restaurants And Bars Near Bond Street

As befitting an area of the stature of Bond Street, there are many high class eateries in the area. However, there are more affordable options too. The restaurant of Gordon Ramsay's protégé Angela Hartnett is located near Bond Street, in the Connaught. This provides high class food, as does Le Petite Maison, which offers French cuisine. As mentioned before, there are other alternatives, with chains such as Wagamamas, Ask, Zizzi's and Giraffe near to Bond Street, which offer affordable yet excellent food.

As you might expect from Bond Street's affluent location, there are a number of private clubs around the area, including 43 South Molton, Portland Club and Savile club. Also, for the more risqué visitor, there is an adult venue called Sophisticats, which offers cabaret and drinks in a more "adult" environment than other clubs!

There are more sedate options, with normal pubs such as the Cock & Lion, groovy bars like The American Bar and the Toucan, plus places to dance the night away such as No.5 and the Moose Bar.

All in all, Bond Street has much to offer any visitor, with great choice regarding cuisines, drinking spots and sightseeing. Culture vultures will love the museums and ladies will enjoy the huge amount of shopping opportunities on offer.
