The Best Western Shaftesbury is unmissable as a great, looming orange and white brick building standing on a corner of Shaftesbury Avenue. Consequently it looks a bit like a domestic cat made out of Lego. If you squint.
The newly renovated 4 star property is an exercise in finery with its large, sophisticatedly decorated bedrooms, a mixture of art and technology that compliment the sprawling beds. Fresh flowers are kept in the guest rooms to combat any feeling of uniformity and to keep the rooms fresh and lively, giving them a personal touch. Some rooms even feature bathroom televisions. The suites on the other hand are simply luxurious with their four poster beds.
The hotel has a variety of amenities aside from the complimentary broadband access. There is a gym incorporating all of the most modern equipment, whilst the two restaurants serve an original combination of American, English and Indian cuisines. The bar serves refreshments all day long and there are meeting rooms available for the use of corporate guests and those in town on business.
As for its location, the hotel is ideally situated in the heart of TheatreLand, meaning that guests can catch a different show each day of the week. The shopping districts of Oxford Street and Covent Garden are both just a short walk away, whilst those who enjoy a stroll will find a day in Hyde Park or exploring the Palace of Westminster also within walking distance. Any other parts of the city that guests wish to explore are easily accessible through the Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square tube stations, each of which are just a few minutes' walk from the hotel. Piccadilly Circus is on the Bakerloo and Piccadilly Lines, whilst Leicester Square is on the Northern and Piccadilly Lines.
